Gertrude & Philip Hoffman, April 1961: Europe & Israel
 
They went with Gertrude's brother & sister-in-law, Leo and Helen Novak, and friends from New York. It was the grand tour. Philip said, "I crossed the ocean once, and that was enough for me." However, Gertie persisted, and he gave in and made the trip. Grand it was! The greatest excitement was their visit in Israel for the 13th anniversary of the state. Uniquely they possed for a photo in front of the dining hall at Kibbutz Ayelet Hashachar where Craig, Michael and Jed all went to school 13 years later!
